For humans, order is a prerequisite of survival; therefore the impulse to produce orderly arrangements is inherent by evolution. Although, over time these arrangements entropie into their inevitable transformation and breakdown back to nature.

As infrastructures from past industries break down and become obsolete there is an opportunity to transform them back into greenspace. As the world population grows, greenspaces are becoming more and more vital. The via verde is a great example of this transformation. From a train route transporting iron and coal, to a footpath transporting people through nature.

This installation is a homage to all the initiatives around the world greening our planet and to demonstrate the ephemeral essence of everything and everyone.

Sometime after installation the sphere inside was castaway by natural forces…

As things break down around us a circle of strength remains. This is very symbolic for me and my family right now reminding us there is no beginning or end.

We are constantly surrounded by transformations big and small. Since the installation of this work a transformation has occurred. From a circle with a sphere to a circle alone… a portal. The most perfect of creative forms, without beginning or end. Circles are among the oldest of geometric symbols, and commonly represent unity, wholeness, and infinity.
